You know those weeks when your morning coffee isn’t cutting it and the exhaustion is blatantly overtaking you? Me too. While we all experience burnout- most of us would assume that an 8 am workout is NOT the thing to cure our yawns and tired souls… however, a session at Motive Training was.

The studio was so easy to find, and there were lots of parking spaces. When I walked in, I was greeted by the smiling faces of Brian Murray (owner,) Dan Montgomery, and RJ Walch. As I warmed up my body, Brian asked me what I was looking to improve. I asked him to teach me how to improve my form and we jumped right into it. He helped me set up a correct form to keep my spine safe and tailored the equipment we used to equipment I had access to, at my regular gym.

Throughout the workout, I was able to try new moves. Brian kept me laughing while still pushing me to reach my goals. It was not at all awkward, and I learned so much. He modified moves to fit my level of training and taught me why moves were performed a certain way. Not once did I feel embarrassed by what I could or could not do during the session. My injuries were worked around and I was taught how to work with them. Motive Training was a safe space where I could challenge the exhaustion that had been terrorizing my life.

When I left the session I was awake, and I felt so accomplished that my workout for the day was done. Throughout the rest of the day, I had a ton of energy and I was able to achieve all my tasks – no coffee needed.
