Cliff Cave Park

Cliff Cave Park

The newest addition to Cliff Cave Park is a must-see!

The 2.04-mile extension was completed inside the South St. Louis County Park back in 2018 to connect the upper and lower sections of the park.

The new upper trailhead is located on Cliff Cave Road at England Town Road with a parking lot and public restrooms.
The trail travels up the bluff to a new scenic overlook with an incredible view of the Mississippi River.

You can access two shorter trails from this greenway as well as Telegraph Road.

This trail is one of the three sections that make up Great Rivers Greenway’s Mississippi Greenway.

The lower section of Cliff Cave Park has a 5-mile loop, the Mississippi River Trail, that circles the floodplain bottomland. The path is paved and flat the whole way around.

You can also access the unpaved 1-mile River Bluff Trail that sits below the bluffs and offers an outstanding view of the Mississippi River.

This section of the park does tend to flood so take caution and turn around if the water covers the path. You can check Great Rivers Greenway’s website for an update on trail closures before heading out.
