Juneteenth Cultured Flow & Summer SOLSTICE Virtual Class

Join us for a VIRTUAL community celebration honoring Juneteenth, Summer Solstice and International Day of Yoga. The Juneteenth Cultured Flow will honor African heritage and the moment that the last enslaved people in America learned of their freedom in 1865 through a gentle yoga flow and traditional West African Dance class all set to the rhythmic sounds of live drummers. Niche Faulkner will lead us through a traditional West African dance followed by a gentle yoga flow to ground us led by Jaimis Huff. No shoes are required and bare feet are encouraged. Lapa or a skirt/fabric around the waist is also encouraged but not required.

This event is free. Donations are encouraged — all proceeds will benefit 100 Black Men of America. You can either donate directly to 100 Black Men of America or Venmo @sweatnet with the caption “Juneteenth” to make your donation. 100 Black Men of America is a non-profit organization. Its local chapters prepare young men and women to realize their highest potential, by creating viable solutions to address local and national issues affecting African American communities.

If you’d like to donate to the drummers, Yomi & Bilal, please send payment through SHAE MOVEMENT AFRICAN ARTS Dance Company’s Cashapp, “$smaace”
