Hey everyone! My name is Lauren and I’m a rare Colorado native 😉 So excited to be a part of the SweatNet community!
I grew up in Denver and Highlands Ranch/Lone Tree. As a kid, I participated in basically any and every sport that I could, but never really had that competitive side to me, making it hard to progress in team sports. That’s when I realized dance was my true passion, so I started regularly dancing (18+ hours/week) when I was 10 years old. Unfortunately, I tore my MCL and dislocated my knee when I was 16 while dancing, but I was lucky to be rehabilitated by PT and didn’t have to have surgery. In high school, I was co-captain of the JV Poms (dance) team, and I surprisingly loved the competitive aspect of that.
I attended college at the University of Colorado Boulder and was part of the Buff Gold dance team my freshman year. I absolutely loved being on the team, but decided to step back after 1 year to focus on my studies.
After graduating with my degree in Psychology and Sociology, I have explored different career paths, but have decided to go back to school. I am currently working on applying to grad school for child/school psychology or social work. For the past year+ I have been a full time nanny for 2 young girls that I love like they’re my own.
In my free time I enjoy finding new and interesting things to do in and around Denver. Even as a native, I’m always learning about new places. Follow my IG for all of my adventures! @denverbucketlist_
I do love to stay active by occasionally hiking, indoor cycling, and doing yoga, Pilates, or barre. Sometimes I feel like I get a workout in just by dancing in the car, but maybe that’s just me 😉
