It all started in Founder Nikki Azzara’s college dorm room. Nikki discovered she was gluten intolerant while studying at Wake Forest University. As a health-conscious foodie, avid runner and wellness enthusiast living on campus, she was frustrated with her lack of options to “indulge”. So, Nikki started a healthy food blog called Slender Seven, where she developed her own 7-ingredient recipes that transformed her favorite treats into nutrient dense snacks.
Upon graduation in 2014, Nikki was pursuing a career in the natural food industry and would frequent grocery stores in an effort to scope out brands. She noticed that these nutrient dense, whole food-based indulgences were few and far between. This inspired Nikki to create P.S. Snacks as a platform for better-for-you treat alternatives — her favorite desserts made with unique, plant-based ingredients that are actually good for you. Problem solved!
It was only fitting that her all-time favorite Slender Seven recipe creation, her chocolate chip chickpea-based cookie dough, was launched as the first product to hit shelves. And cookie dough is just the beginning…Nikki is determined to build P.S. Snacks as a brand platform that modernizes nostalgic treats, turning classic favorites into healthy snacks that can AND should be enjoyed anytime-of-day.
