Instructor Insight – Anna Barrett

What classes do you teach & where?
Indoor Cycling at CycleBar Redmond.

How did you get into the fitness industry?
I started teaching indoor cycling over 10 years ago at Golds Gym. It was something to keep me in shape, challenge me, and I loved it. I taught on and off for 10 years. When boutique fitness popped up, I left the big gyms and never looked back. I loved the sense of community the smaller classes, the feeling you were apart of something. After having a baby I got back to teaching barre and cycle and auditioned for CycleBar. I fell in love with the brand at boot camp and 4 months later the Studio Manager position came available and I took the leap and went for it. It has been such a challenging and wonderful experience. The community at Redmond is like no other and I am so blessed to be a part of it.

What’s your favorite thing about being an instructor?
I love giving energy to people and making fitness fun and powerful. I also just LOVE dancing on the bike to loud music.

Where can we find you when you’re not teaching a class?
At CycleBar hanging out working or with my husband and son or my long time friends. I have Sundays off with them so I make the most of those days, we head out on our boat or go hiking. We like to stay active.

What’s your one piece of advice for someone who wants to live a healthier life?
Find something that you love. Life is short so enjoy working out. Don’t let life’s challenges and distractions keep you from your workout. If you give yourself that time you will be happier, more effective at your job and home life.

What is your guilty pleasure food and/or drink?
Tacos, pizza and chips for food. I do like 1-2 times per week to have beer, champagne, or a scratch margarita.

Who is your celebrity crush?
Haha… hmmm. Ryan Reynolds seems like my type. I like funny people. Humor is essential for life.
