Moxie is an all women’s fitness studio coming this winter to Pineville, NC! We’re offering a variety of class formats - strength, conditioning, and Pilates workouts all while providing women a safe, fun, effective environment. Removed from the big-box gym experiences, free from ego and the perception that fitness revolves around perfection, we invite women to leave their day at the door, come inside and reconnect with themselves. The studio is class-based, focused primarily on 50-minute HIIT style workouts.
We are looking for someone passionate about health and wellbeing, as well as interested in growing a business and a brand. The general manager is a dynamic leader who is a self-starter and detail oriented, hardworking, accountable - ready to build something cool with cool people. This person will lead our trainers and staff to create incredible experiences for our clients and grow the membership-based business.
The general manager will oversee daily operations and be responsible for all aspects of operating the studio, including pre-sales, sales, developing the studio culture, training/managing staff, customer relationship management, and budget management.
Role specifics:
Pre-sales/Sales/Brand Promo/Marketing
Community engagement in a grass roots style to drive studio awareness, generate leads, cultivate relationships with other area businesses. This is anticipated to be a regular activity during the pre-sales phase of the business, transitioning to less frequently as the studio matures.
During the first few months, the position is focused heavily on sales and brand promotion in partnership with owner.
In charge of ongoing lead generation, follow up, and closing membership sales (delegation opportunities depending upon staff hired)
In partnership with owner, manage and grow all revenue streams
Create and execute ongoing marketing plan based on studio needs with a focus on new client acquisition, activation, retention, and loyalty
Daily Social media management, including posting content and responding appropriately and proactively to any negative comments
Studio Operations/Finance
As the studio opens for classes, the General Manager will ensure smooth daily operations
The General Manager will ensure the studio is well-maintained and customer service standards are upheld
Studio cleaning and prepping, including cleaning of exercise equipment, floors and mirrors
Partner with Studio Owner and Head Trainer to optimize class schedule on an ongoing basis
Partner with Studio Owner to track retail inventory and order new merchandise as needed
Manage maintenance issues and routine cleaning
Manage studio budget, spending, and reporting in partnership with the studio owner to ensure ongoing health and profitability of the studio
Deliver a high-energy, engaging, and memorable workout to members in a class setting
Create and write fun and effective workouts using functional movements designed to target all muscle groups, increase cardiovascular strength, and accommodate various fitness levels.
HR
Participate in studio meetings and trainings as needed including a regularly occurring collab touch base ("how's it going? What do you need? How can I better support?")
Partner with Studio Owner to recruit, hire, train, supervise, coach all studio staff
Training and coaching of new hires (general company admin tasks) (delegation opportunities depending upon staff hired)
Work as a cohesive team member - inspire collaboration with the team as the team grows.
Preferred experience:
1+ years of sales experience (preferred)
Pre-Sales/studio opening experience (preferred)
Compensation:
This is a full-time position with varying hours of work. May require evening/weekend work.
