Licensed Cosmetologist

Do you have passion for making people feel beautiful and confident through hair and makeup design? We are hiring experienced cosmetologists as independent contractors to perform hair styling (no cuts or colors) and makeup application at our locations Grand Rapids and Northville.

GOALS

The licensed cosmetologists at Urban You work with the aestheticians and lash artists to create signature looks for guests for their special occasions. Whether it’s replicating one of the Urban You blowouts, or creating a unique style, you strive for hair and makeup perfection and educate the guest on the proper hair and makeup products and techniques for optimal results. You will have the opportunity to build a large clientele as most of our guests seeking these services are bridal parties, or large groups attending formal events like galas and proms.

Urban You is an authorized salon dealer of Kevin.Murphy and R+Co products, as well as Senna Cosmetics and Revitalash.

REQUIREMENTS

• Active and present on social media

• Monthly submissions of adequate before and after images

• Recent and diverse portfolio of formal hair styling (bridal)

• Weekend availability

• License of cosmetology in Michigan

• Reliable transportation

• Experience in spray tan, sugar waxing, and airbrush makeup

• Highly proficient in the area of blowouts

• Able to make product recommendations for hair type
